Message to Parents:
Students MUST be registered at Lakeland Regional High School for us to enter their elective choices, otherwise, we cannot enter their choices to create a schedule. Parents should be registering (if they have not already) their child for Lakeland Regional High School at https://www.fridayparentportal.com/lakeland/preregistration. Please remind parents that registration in the middle school does not automatically enroll them in Lakeland Regional High School, as we are a separate district. Registration to Lakeland Regional High School, to guarantee the best chance students can get the classes they request (below), is Friday, January 24th, 2025. If there are any registration questions, parents can call (973) 835-1900 x124 or x126 for assistance.
A list of the 9th-grade electives and their course descriptions can be found in the "Incoming Freshmen Electives" document or the "2025-2026 Curriculum Guide". 8th-grade students should use the Google Form Class of 2029 - 9th Grade Elective Sheet to request their electives for 9th grade, which is due by Friday, January 24th, 2025. Parents can use the Class of 2029 - 9th Grade Appeals Google Form to appeal any "core" course appeals (if applicable) by April 13, 2025.
Freshman Transition Program
Lakeland Regional High School has developed a Freshman Transition Program which will take place in August. The objective of this program is to help incoming 9th-grade students adjust to the standards and requirements for meeting the needs of high school. There are many changes that take place in teenage years and multiple studies have shown that the 9th grade is a pivotal point of how students will perform throughout high school and beyond. This program is not only to make freshmen feel comfortable during the first week of school but also to show them the tools they need to be successful and well-rounded students during all four years of high school. This program will continue throughout the school year and will explore various topics at designated meeting times during the school day.
