School starts in 27 days... Have you started your summer reading???

I can't believe that it has been so long since our first LRHS UPAL Summer Science Camp! I would like to again thank all of the participants and high school helpers for making this event extremely enjoyable and successful. We invite you all next year, please spread the word!!😀

Check out this event: Community Day- August 8, 12-2 pm, Stony Brook Swim Club, Hillsdale
There will be information stations for a variety of Special Olympics New Jersey departments including Unified Champion Schools, Law Enforcement Torch Run, Community Programming, Young Athletes, Health & Wellness, and more. Our brand new mobile health RV will be on site to provide general health screenings to our SONJ Athletes. We’ll also have some lawn games and a Young Athletes activity!
This is a great opportunity to get to know more about all of the programming offered by SONJ and meet more of our state program staff. Attached please find the flyer for the event on which is a QR code for the registration page. If you plan to join us, please pre-register here to give us a general idea of how many folks to expect – walk ins are welcome, though!

Students, it's almost time... SCHEDULES will be live on Tuesday, August 6th.
Note: the portal is not active until Tuesday. Contact the main office if you have a fine. Students with fines will not be able to see their schedules on Tuesday.

Please see the attached notice from Mr. Hugh E. Beattie, Chief School Administrator:
Dear Lakeland Families and Friends,
As we prepare for the opening of school at the end of August, I wanted to share with you some changes planned for our daily schedule for the 2024-25 school year. We have changed our instructional periods from 80-minute instructional blocks to 72-minute instructional blocks. This change will shorten our daily schedule.
Classes will start with morning homeroom beginning at 7:40 AM and the day will end with dismissal at 2:10 PM. Students who qualify for busing will meet with their buses immediately after school is dismissed. A Late Bus will be available at 3:45 PM for students who remain after school hours for clubs and school activities.
The first three days of school August 28, 29, and 30 will be early dismissal days. School will start at the regular time, but students will be dismissed at 12:25PM for those three days. Our first full day of classes will be Tuesday, September 3, 2024.
We have attached a copy of our new schedule(s) with this notice.
Enjoy the rest of the summer,
Respectfully,
Hugh E. Beattie – Chief School Administrator

Yet another fun day of hands on experiments for our 7th and 8th graders. Great work everyone!!!

The AP exam scores are in and Lakeland's top scholars impressed. In addition to improving our overall pass rate for all subjects, our pass rate was over 90% for seven of 13 subjects offered. Congratulations to our students and our AP teachers for their hard work this year.
